Well, as of 12:00 am last nite, or this morning, depending on
how you look at it, it is now illegal to smoke in public bars, restaurants, and casino's in Montana.
First, I don't smoke. I never have, except for a little bit in
High School, in my youth.
But I couldn't care less if you want to do it.
I voted against the smoking ban, and I'll give you my reasons for that:
(1) Tobacco is a product that is legal to grow, own, possess, and smoke.
(2) If you have a bar, or casino, and want to cater to smokers, I feel that it's your business decision to make.
(3) I don't like the agenda of the anti-smokers. It's not about public health. It's about enforcing their ideas on others.
I personally think it's unenforceable, as I remember when Helena passed the law, it was ignored by most establishments.
However, since the voters here are willing to vote away others rights, it really doesn't matter what I think about it, it'll just give us something to analyze.
Whaddya think? Is the smoking ban a good thing?
