It's a question I keep asking myself.
And I'm leaning towards 'Yes' - and I'll give you a few examples -
First example - Senator Baucus.
Compared to Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid, Senator Baucus is conservative.
Yet, check out this post over at LITW - they seem surprised:
I need to clue them in a little:
(1) Max is in no danger of having a primary opponent. He couldn't care less how much you bluster.
(2) Max's campaigns have been funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars by the medical, and pharmaceutical industries. Do you think he's going to turn his back on them, after all these years?
Second example: Senator Tester
He made lots of promises when he was campaigning, from "Quite frankly, I don't support earmarks, period" to voting to end the war in Iraq.
And as I expected, he has done nothing for the far-left wing of the Democrats, even though they are the voters that made up his base. He votes however Harry Reid tells him to vote, and didn't even have the guts to have a 'Town Hall' meeting on health care - probably in fear for his life.
And yet the Democrats still think he represents them. Keep Hoping.
Third Example: President Obama
The 'Great Leader' came to Montana what, 5 times? And he still lost. People in Montana think he's just too liberal for them. Yet, the liberals keep imagining overwhelming public support for him and all that he does. He's not that popular here. His 'Obamacare isn't popular. Here's an example:
If you click the link, you see, from one of the best pollsters in America, that Americans hate the plans they've seen so far. Here is a claim from LITW that I lifted just now:
"74% of Americans support a public option.
43% committee voted for Schumer public option amendment.
35% of committee voted for Rockafeller public option amendment.
If only you could add the support together, then you might get something
approaching the overwhelming public support."
And I truly think they believe it.
So what do you think? Easily Fooled? Gullible? Special? What would you call the libs in Montana?
