City Lights: Does persona change when it goes online?

Over at the BILLINGS GAZETTE today, Ed Kemmicks
column asks a good question, does a persons personality
change when they start an online discussion?

Here's the link:

http://www.billingsgazette.com/news/local/article_aca4324c-dcb4-11de-abc1-001cc4c03286.html

I've wondered sometimes myself.

Some posters make such wild statements, you have to wonder if they're simply a 12-year-old with a computer, stirring the pot, an escaped lunatic, or a perpetual voice of reason, such as myself.

What do you think - do bloggers have split personalities, or not?

Obama "Apology Tour" continues

President Obama was in fine
form in China, bowing to the
Chinese leader, in the same
"Yes, Master" posture he used
when he greeted the King of
Saudi Arabia.
~
The sounds of Bruce Springsteen
greeted the crowd, American flags
were placed next to Red China
flags, and he answered less than
10 softball questions, and was
careful not to offend anyone.
~
Is anybody here impressed by The Great Leaders handling of foreign policy yet?

And they tremble at the sound of his name

Congratulations to PSC Commissioner
Brad Molnar -
~
looking over the liberal blogs, he
is hated and feared by the Montana Democrats.
~
Here's the latest link;

~

Brad scares the hell out of them.
~
Why? Because when he was first elected
to the Montana legislature, he took away a
seat that had always been Democratic, and
were it not for term-limits, he would have done
more than four terms.
~
And in the last election cycle, where Democrats
were simply coasting along on an anti-GOP
sentiment, Brad easily won re-election.
~
Why, you ask? Because Brad is a man who isn't ambiguous, and doesn't try to act like a Democrat for purposes of campaigning.
~
He'll tell you what he thinks, and not waver from it.
~
That's why the liberals are busy attacking him - because there isn't a current 'star' in their party who could run against him and win.
~
I'd run him for Governor if I could come up with the money. And he'd win.
~
How's this sound - Governor Brad ?

Happy Veterans Day.

Speaking as an old-fart I've got a lot of good memories from Veterans Day.

First, It's my brother Evans birthday. He's now an old-fart too - 46 years old.

When we were kids, he always got a parade on his birthday.

It was am important holiday still in the 60's.

Not only was the bank and the post-office closed, but so was everything else. Our town had two gas stations, and only one would stay open.

Every town had a soldiers monument, and the VFW would have a parade, and they would drop a wreath into the Turkey River to honor the Navy & Merchant Marine Vets.

The men who belonged to the VFW would squeeze into their Korea War uniforms, and much to our amazement as kids they were not businessmen or neighbors, they were soldiers, marching in step.

You held your chest out, everybody took off their hat, and you were proud to be an American.
Thank a veteran today if you can.

I'm going to call my little brother, and welcome him to the old-farts club -

My thoughts about Fort Hood

Last Thursday, the armed man who yelled "Allahu Akbar"

right before he started shooting innocent people at Ft. Hood

was a radical Muslim U.S. Army Officer.
~

It was a terrorist act.
~

The warning signs were there.

~
Malik Hasan had posted anti-american hate speech on the internet.

~
He loudly criticized U.S. Foreign policy, and praised suicide bombers, using his own name even, because with your administrations weakness and hesitancy he wasn't worried about being disciplined or questioned.
~
It's time for you, and your administration to 'nut-up' and take a strong stand against any and all muslim extremists.
~
In the military, there is a don't-ask-don't-tell policy in place for homo's - if anybody finds out they're a homo, they're discharged.
~
It's time to ban muslims from the military as well.
~
What do you think - isolated incident, or encouraged by the weakness & hesitancy coming out of Washington ?

Obama Youth ?

I've poked fun at the
media hype of candidate
and now President, Barack
Obama.

It's something I do.

But I just came across
something that's more than a little
scary.

A typhoon is a little scary.

A naked photo of Hillary, or Janet Reno would
be a little scary.

What I'm talking about is scarier - schoolchildren being made to sing songs praising President Obama in school. It reminds me of the Hitler Youth movement documented on the history channel.

Think I'm going over the edge? Look here:

What do you think ?

Obama/Democrats jap-slapped by voters

It is with no small amount of personal satisfaction,
that I watched the election results tonight, as the
Democrats had their asses handed to them in both
New Jersey, and Virginia.

Republicans swepth through Virginia, winning the Governors
seat and other Statewide offices, and Gov. Corzine in New
Jersey was tossed out on his ear, despite 3 separate campaign trips by
President Obama, the last one on Saturday.

What does this mean? It means that voters are unhappy with the Democrats, because despite their (The Dems) ego's, which led them to think they had some kind of a mandate after last years fluke elections. They don't.

It also means that there are tomorrow a lot of Democratic politicians shaking in their boots at the thought of having to follow Nancy Pelosi over a cliff and pass a bad health care bill.

It'll never happen now.

Pelosi will twist their arms as much as possible, and tell them that if they don't support whatever bill she tells them to support, that they'll be cast out of the 'in' crowd.

But if they do vote for it, they now know that they'll be tossed out on their ear too, like Governor Corzine.

Do you think the Democrats will figure it out ?
